Family Memories

Hector Norman CURRIE (aged 29), twin brother of Herbert, eleventh child of Robert CURRIE and Elizabeth CURRIE (nee PEARSON) married Myrtle Eliza FORD (aged 18) on 20th October 1920.  John McDougal was best man and Ruby FORD (Myrtle's sister) was bridesmaid.

A very comprehensive account of the CURRIE family history (including Hector and Myrtle CURRIE) can be found in the book "Curries from Cumberland" published in Wagga Wagga NSW in 2010 by the Currie Family Book Committee. This book covers three brothers, Samuel born 1819, James (1821-1886) and William (1823-1848) born to Robert CURRIE and Sarah ELLIOTT, baptised at Distington Cumberland, England.

The book describes the Currie's life in Cumberland, their voyage to Australia and the acquistion of land in Victoria, Australia and includes many stories and photos.

For more details on the book "Curries from Cumberland" just send an email to info@fordsofkatandra.com" to be put in touch with the Currie Family Book Committee.
