Elizabeth BRACEGIRDLE''s parents are Peter BRACEGIRDLE and Esther WOOD who married 17 Aug 1794 while living at Lower Withington Cheshire, England. Peter and Esther are buried at St Bartholomews, Wilmslow in grave Dj24, not far from where Elizabeth and Joseph FORD are buried in gravee Dj21. Elizabeth married on 29th January 1807 at Chadkirk Chapel , in the county of Cheshire, Joseph FORD, bachalor (of this parish) Weaver & Betty BRACEGIRDLE (of the said parish) Spinster, Married by Banns by W Bowness Minister, and witnessed by Sam Wood, Hy Clarkson.
In 1808 Joseph FORD and Elizabeth BRACEGIRDLE had their first child, Hannah at Deans Row, Wilmslow. In 1811 there is a Wilmslow Parish Church Baptism on 1 January for Mary, dr of Jos & Eliz FORD of Chorley. Eliza FORD born 14th March 1813 Baptised 17th June 1814 Unitarian Chapel, Dean Row. John FORD Burial records show buried 1st October 1815 at Romiley (Chadkirk Chapel) aged 1 month. Joseph, child number 5 was born at Chorley or Alderley, Cheshire on 1 March 1816. His baptism is recorded at Lende End Wesleyan, Wilmslow on 28 April 1816 by Thomas HARRIS. In 1818 there is another baptism registered to Joseph and Elizabeth FORD of Hough, at the Wilmslow Parish Church. This child was named Elizabeth, baptised on 20 September 1818, Joseph's occupation is listed as weaver. On 11 May 1820, Sarah, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth FORD of Chorley in the parish of Wilmslow was born. Sarah was baptised by Jno DAVIS on 19 June 1820 at Lende End Wesleyan Wilmslow. Ann FORD date of birth 1st October 1822 baptised on 30th April 1823 at the Unitarian Chapel, Dean Row to Joseph Ford, Farmer & Weaver and Elizabeth BRACEGIRDLE noted on entry 8th child John FORD was born 26th August 1824 and Baptised 19 December 1824, at the Unitarian Chapel, Dean Row to Joseph FORD, Farmer and Elizabeth BRACEGIRDLE of the township of Chorley in the Parish of Wilmslow and according to later censuses was born at Chorley or Bollin Fee, noted on entry 9th child Then comes the baby of the family - our Thomas FORD baptised on 24th June 1827 at Wilmslow Parish Church to Joseph and Elizabeth FORD. Abode - Hough, father's occupation is listed as farmer.
