Family Memories
Janet's mother was born in Scotland and died Bonnie Doon, near Mansfield.
Janet married William Henry FORD in Melbourne on the 2nd June 1872 (according to family) however marriage registration was actually in 1881. Janet had apparently been married (no record found as yet) to Patrick RYNN but had not had any contact with him for 8 years (he must have left in about 1873), so even though William Henry FORD and Janet DONALDSON were living together and had children, they were unable to marry until the required number of years passed by after her first husband's desertion.
Patrick RYNN born about 1837 at Clare Ireland was the son of Timothy RYNN and Ellen O'LOUGHLIN. He also had a sister Ellen COSGROVE who was living in Victoria Australia in 1875 when Patrick RYNN died, she is listed on his death certificate.
On 20th November 1875, Patrick RYNN was branding some pigs he had brought at the Sale yards at Warrambool, Victoria, when his knife slipped and he cut his right thigh. He collapsed in the street and taken to a hotel where he died about an hour later from haemorrage from his femoral artery. He was buried at Terang, Victoria on 22nd November 1875. He was aged 38 and was recorded as being unmarried "and from the property found on him, he appeared to be of comfortable means".
Janet had her first baby Florence Laura, at her Uncle and Aunt's home at Avenel (Benjamin and Johanna BUSCOMBE) on 25 November 1873.
Second child, William Herbert, was born in 1875, Blanche born 1877 and Alexander born 1878 were all born at William FORD's home near Avenel, Victoria, Janet is still listed as Janet DONALDSON, unmarried.
